I got a tattoo last night between my shoulder blades and my shoulders feel tight when I move around. I feel like a lot of the color is coming off when I have A&D ointment on it. I don't really know whats going on.

Not to worry, it probably feels like a
bad sunburn............when you stretch
and/or reach, it feels tight....that's normal........it's not only art on you, it's
a bruise too.
Just keep it clean, wash with hand, not
wash cloth....and blot dry with towel...
have someone put your lotion on....not
thick....and make sure that it's rubbed
in good......and you'll be fine......
oh, and don't stop using the lotion 'til
it's healed, which should be at least 3 weeks.......you may think it's ok...but, it's still "working on the inside"...........
I don't know where some of these people get their informatio from....geez

relax and start thinking about your next
one.................enjoy

Since you just got the tatt, it's probably just the extra ink coming out. But make very sure you aren't using too much A&D ointment - A&D will actually pull color out of a new tatt. I've seen tatts where all the color was pulled because the person applied the ointment too thickly, leaving only a red outline. If you're trying to put the ointment on your own back, chances are good you're using too much. Have someone else put it on - they should use a VERY small amount, just enough to rub into the tatt. There should be NO residue to wipe off. Personally, I rarely use the A&D ointment - I just wash a new tatt several times a day with a very mild anti-bacterial soap and then rub on a fragrance free lotion like lubriderm (the variety for sensitive skin). The few times I have used it, I used it for two days then switched to the above routine.

It's just the scabbing that is starting keep the ointment on it and don't wipe it just let it heal. All tattoo places have a guarantee so go back when it is healed and they will fix whatever they missed.

when the scabs start coming off you'll really think that it's comming off, but don't worry, it's part of the healing process and your tattoo will be fine. after a couple days stop useing the A&D and use lotion instead. and keep it clean so it doesn't get infected.

You are fine! Don't forget - you have an open wound. No different than a cut. They are sore, they tighten up while healing, and it will itch, itch (don't scratch).
Make sure your hands are really, really clean any time you touch it.
