Not that my views will be much changed on the subject, but I am curious.
For those who answer in the affirmative, why is it evil? What experience do you derive your knowledge of its evilness from?

lol, I love the answers.
Actually, I'm a long time D&D nerd, so I'm not trying to attack it.
And for whoever it was down there plugging 2nd edition, thank god there are still a few old-schoolers left. Third edition is way to cartoonish and simplistic for me.
Baltek= Dungeon Master= King of the Nerds!

Technically it would be Asmodeus' game, if you follow the heirarchy of the devils found in the D&D playing environment.
There, I have proved my geekdom for the day.

properly, i'm a Christian, i do no longer play Dungeons and Dragons. i do no longer particularly comprehend too lots approximately it, yet I do savor different function-paying style video games (Knights of the previous Republic, especially.) i do no longer particularly comprehend adequate to condem Dungeons and Dragons especially, and it must be ok, yet there is a few factor that stuff can get taken too a strategies -- i mean, dragons, dungeons, ok...thats cool...yet demons and dark superpowers? i'm uncertain i might choose to be messing with that. and that i think of the clarification people leap off the roof is as a results of the fact they they have not got a life outdoors of the interest -- yet thats no longer a flaw of D&D, its a flaw of the guy specializing in it too lots. yet thats merely my opinion.

It might be for someone. But it wasn't for me. It was more of an imaginative acting game. Being a Christian, I heard from some who didn't believe that. But now that I have no time to develop the charts, maps and the ever so long to construct characters, I am not talking about it very much.
I thought that it was fun for the time.

Whoa.... are we back in the 1980s?
I thought that quit being Satan's game back when Ms. Pulling found some other thing to blame her inadequacies as a parent on...
Hey, Cat Lover... lay off the Chick Tracts... That's the only place a suicide over a character death ever occured.
Jack Chick made it up.

Why would the Devil spend time playing D&D when he could be out playing drinking games with the cool kids? Actually, there is nothing wrong with the game, it's just the players that can be evil.

No. It's funny, I was brought up in a Christian household and led to believe that D&D was basically Satanic. Later in life I played and found out it wasn't at all. It's just another example of the closed-mindedness of Christians.

Many people who got to addicted to it commit suicide when they lose thier character sheet, have the game lost, etc.
However, the same experiences happen with World of Warcraft. DnD is in no way Satan's game.

I love AD&D 2nd Edition. It is all i have played for years. My family says it is satanic but more evil comes from them than the game or me playing it so...

Tom Hanks was in a movie where someone died so it must be true!
Of course D&D is actually evil because Gygax wants your money. Why would they produce so many books?
