That is what they say; The christian god is a sociopath and psychopath who only wants blinkered devotion to him to enter his club. It's rather like Robert Mugabe and other despots!
I'd rather just be nice to people & take my chances. You don't need a god for that!

Christians telling people they don't have to be perfect isn't such a bad thing. In fact, that's the way it should be. Decent people can make mistakes, your examples are blowing that useful sense of understanding way out of proportion. That understanding & forgiveness gives people a sense of hope and turns lives around, it literally gets people out of the gutter. Why do you have such a problem with that? Would you rather Christians told everyone they have to be 100% perfect their entire life to get into heaven? I'd find that to be much more hypocritical and wrong than what you're complaining about. Come on, let's use some common sense, obviously there are many crimes against humanity that are unforgivable. Who draws the line? Not Christians. God does. Make the best of your life and do unto others as you would have done unto you. Religions make some people look down on other people and turns some into hypocrites, I know that offends you. But the real point of being moral and having faith in God is not such a terrible thing, it actually does make a lot of people good.

The Reason Nobody can get back Into Heaven Without Jesus (not Even the Old Testament Saints, Moses etc.) is we are Born with a Messed Up Spirit.
Jesus is The Only One Who can Recreate you.
Jesus has to have your Permission.
Jesus is the Ultimate Gentleman.
Ditto. and hope this helps.
(doing Good Deeds won't Recreate your spirit)
King David committed Murder, he is in Heaven, but King David Paid DEARLY for commiting that Murder.
You Reap what you have Sown, whether your Lost or Saved.
Even after your Saved, do Wrong and John Lawman will Still get ya!!!
GOD, why am I in Prison?

I'm not a christian, I'm muslim. So you may or may not read my answer =o) First of all, the fact that you believe in God and the fact that you feel love and fear toward him already has you in heaven. Those that believe in God, do good works, love, honor and fear him, pray to Him for guidance will find their place in Heaven. As long as you do not deny God by turning your back on Him you have your place with Him. You don't have to find God, because God is in everything and everyone, even the non-believers (those that don't believe in God). The only one you should be confessing your sins to is God, not Jesus, as Jesus was not a savior of men, but a prophet sent by God to bring followers to Him.

Accepting Jesus has ethical implications. He is Lord and Savior. There should be a change in lifestyle. However, the point the people were trying to make on your post is that to be granted salvation does not depend upon your individual actions because no one is "good enough" to merit God's grace and mercy. Salvation is where the human need is met by the divine gift. It is not something that is earned by being good, etc. It is given to those who rely on nothing except Jesus' death to vindicate them before God. A person who is relying upon Jesus' death should and most often does have a desire to also follow in the kind of life that he advocated. A life characterized by the love and grace one has received from God.

I'd much rather meet Ghandi after I die than Jim Bakker. So your question is moot as far as I'm concerned. Death rows prisons are full of those that by Christian's words will gain heaven by acceptance of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10Don't you know that those who do wrong will have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, abusers, and swindlers-none of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God.

That's the situation as I understand it.
Which means that there are some really good people in Hell and some really bad people in Heaven.
Doesn't sound like a very good way to run a universe.

I think Christians are wrong. They're wrong because you're not judged by your actions, you're judged by your beliefs, which is to say that if you're Hitler and right before you die, you say, "Jesus, I'm sorry," you get a better chance of going to heaven than the millions of people you killed. – Gene Simmons
