Pretty much anything you want but absolutely NO:
Taffy
Popcorn
Corn on the cob
Apples that aren't cut up
Chewing Gum
Hard Candy like lolipops and all that (unless you're careful to never bite into them)
Stringy food because I remember how much of a pain in the *** it was to pick it out trust me
Stick to soft foods for a week like your friends say, your teeth will thank you for it. Try Jell-O, pudding, ice cream is your savior until your teeth get used to the constant pressure, mashed potatoes, DO NOT try to eat anything that requires a lot of chewing until a few days from now. Other than that you'll be fine, soon you won't even notice they're there. I sure didn't and when I got them off it felt amazing! Good luck with your new teeth ;)

Your braces are on tight, sweetie, so you can eat anything that's not on the NO EAT list, provided it doesn't cause you too much pain. Try milkshakes--blend 1/2 cup milk, 2 big scoops of vanilla ice cream, a heaping tablespoon of peanut butter, and a banana. Yum!
It might help to eat cold stuff, like those fruity syrup in a long plastic envelope thingys. Even if you don't open it up, it may feel good on your gums. Best wishes!

The teeth will be tender for the first week but after that you can eat what you want apart from hard things and chewing gum or sticky stuff. Your teeth will feel tender to start with after every appointment you have where they tighten the brace but this is a good sign it means that you can feel the brace working and doing what its meant to ( moving the teeth).

I had some serious braces work done... the day after every visit was like mouth pain hell. Even breathing cold air hurt (the metal would change size ever so slightly)
Generally ate cottage cheese, yogurt, soups. Stuff like that.
As far as what you can eat once your teeth stop hurting, just about anything that's not super crunchy or really sticky/gummy.
No corn nuts or caramel stuff.

It looks like you are trying to eat, which is a good sign. I have braces and when my teeth hurt these are some of the things I try (other than what you have mentioned): - refried beans - mac and cheese - apple sauce - soup - ice cream - really cooked veggies that can me smashed (sounds gross, but it works)... like peas - potatoes (sweet potato/ yams, baked potatos with sour cream) - cream of wheat - oatmeal - yogurt (I eat this constantly because it feels good) - jello - pudding I also eat things that "disolve" in the mouth like saltines and pringles. If you want to eat meat, try vienna sausages because they break up easily and are much sofer than regular hot dogs. I have trouble eating pasta with long noodles like ramen with my braces because they tend to get caught and make me feel like I'm choking, so you might want to be careful the first time you try pasta. Rice is easy to eat, but also gets caught easily in the brackets and can become frustrating to eat. Good luck and try to eat the best you can. You will need your strength and try eating new foods everyday, despite the pain. Oragel can help with the mouth sores and don't forget to use the wax during the day (don't sleep with the wax on because your mouth needs time to "toughen up"). Peroxyl mouthwash feels good to help soothe the sores too, which is my favorite!

I ate everything bad with mine on: popcorn, frozen foods, the works. Didnt try jawbreakers though... and ya the pain will go away after a week, keep eating soft foods and gradually get to the tougher ones. Try massaging your gums perhaps or just biting slowly on something hard.

You can eat almost everything:
You cant eat anything stiky cuz if you do it wont break them it will just get stuck in the braces and you will be standing infront of the miror for like 1hour trying to get it out.
And if you eat somthing hard like a apple just be carfull and it would be safer to cut it in little pieces.
Don't Be afraid to break them it is realy realy hard to break them trust me.

i ate pretty much what i wanted, if i ate somethin like an apple i cut it in to pieces first, i couldnt eat ribs unless i picked the meat off!!!
if you have the white braces be careful you dont eat foods with alot of colourings in them as they stain, they say not to drink fizzy drinks but as long as you brush your teeth well after every meal you will be fine!!!

When I had mine I ate what ever I liked. I also used to swill my mouth with cold water when the wires had been tightened to ease the pain.
