I'm not Christian, but here is some history:
Judaism came first, they use what Christians call the Old Testament as their scripture. It's called the Hebrew Bible otherwise. Christians came along next. About 2000 years ago a group of Jews thought that their Messiah had arrived, and they became Jesus followers. They were originally a sect of Judaism, but when the Jesus-followers demanded that all of the other Jews should join them, tensions rose. This group broke off and became Christians. There were many sects of Christians, but the major two that survived with the Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox Church. Eventually the Protestants broke away from the Catholics about 1500 years later. The Christians use the Christian Bible, which is the Hebrew Bible plus the New Testament. They do not have the dietary restrictions the Jews have, and they believe that Jesus is the Messiah. Up until about 200 years ago it was believed that only God can decide who he elects for salvation, thus admission to heaven. No outward commitment can change that. Even Martin Luther didn't know if he was elected for salvation or not. Many people were anxious about death because they believed that even Christians who loved Jesus and were pious could be destined for Hell. The only question about predestination was if it happened before or after the Fall. However, things have changed and now Christians believe that as long as they love Jesus a whole bunch they can go to Heaven, and everyone else goes to Hell.

So what does thumb downing have been given to do with something? The Catholic Church is in blunders while dolling out sainthood. Paul talked approximately as ALL believers "saints". As to past to Christ, they have been saints that have been obedient to God and regarded forward to the arrival Messiah. The word "saint" comes from the foundation "sanctified" meaning "set aside". All people who're chosen via God are sanctified, or set aside--and all people who have faith are saints. Saint Schneb

I believe in the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe that Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, died in my place. He was crucified, died, and was buried. He rose again from the dead on the third day. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Communion of saints, the resurrection of the dead and in everlasting life for those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.

My faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus came to this earth from heaven, died on the cross for my sins, and rose into heaven after three days. Jesus loved me enough to do all of this so I love him. That is my faith!

My faith is that I believe in God the Father and creator of all. Jesus died for every human in order to take their sin and die in their place. Jesus is Lord God Almighty as he claimed in the scriptures and the Holy Spirit is our guide and aid here on earth. They are all God and they love us and I love them.

As Augustine said, faith can't be explained, you either have it or you do not. I'd like to think I have faith in Jesus Christ my Lord, though I wouldn't blame him if he didn't have faith in me sometimes.
