If you are planning to spend $400 and want theater in box. I would recommend to go for Sony BRAVIA™ Home Theater System (DAV-HDX500) or Onkyo HT-SR800S. Onkyo would cost you $429 from circuit city or and $399 from 6thave.com.

Brands like Marantz and JBl are better. You can visit Audio House as they have a biggest sound rooms in town. You can test out a wide range of brands.

Most surround sound speaker systems around the $400 price range would be about the same in quality.However i would check out a few other brands that might give you better value .Have a look below and see what you think

you do no longer want an optical connection for a subwoofer. There could be stereo cable out of your receiver on your sub. that's interesting how X360 and PS3 video games have extra suited encompass sound than maximum blockbuster video clips. game enthusiasts have it extra suited there.
