I have it down to Ping G5's and Callaway Big Bertha which is a better club to play with? I hear that they are very similar, and that the Callaway's are better to hit with while the Ping's won't give you the most forgiveness as the Callaways. Any Help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!

The "entry level" Callaways won't have the respect that the Ping G5's have. Also, the Pings will outlast the Callaway irons in both finish and performance, however, this changes as you climb the "quality" ladder. The new Callaway X-Forged irons are second to none in all aspects of playability and finish. I own a set of Callaway X-Forged, a set of X-Tour, Phil Mickelson's choice, and a set of Ping S-58's. I haved owned many of the new sets out, and believe these choices to be the best. The Taylor Made MB TP irons are really nice too!

If you worry about what people are thnking about you I can tell you if you buy Callaways people are going to either think your a beginner with money or your like 80 years old. Ping has been one of the most respected club maker ever and everyone from the countryclub hustler to everyone in our league plays old pings. The best irons out right now though are the Taylormade R7s...Go hit these irons and you'll be hooked.

A fitted set of Pings is a better choice than an off the rack set of Callaways, and all Pings are fitted (assuming you buy them at a store, not ebay or something).

Callaway would be better quality, but I'm sure the pings would be less expensive. I would go with the Big Berthas

Go to the golf shop and hit'em. Some shops have the simulator which measures the distance and accuracy. Whichever feels good is the brand to buy.
