that our purpose in life was to "glorify god".
If god is god, why does he need me to glorify him? And doesn't that make my life nothing more than a pawn to boost his inflated ego? Not a very worthwhile life, if you ask me. They also told me that when I die I will be so wrapped up in him that I won't care where my children are or what happens to them. There is NOTHING that will ever come between me and my children, not even god. Yeah, I will get to live with him forever, but I don't want to spend my whole eternity trying to make someone else happy.

I agree with you but won't comment any further as I tend to really get myself in deep trouble with my opinions on this particular topic. My tongue is so sore from biting it so often.

The usual religious B>S. Live a good life-it is that simple..don't glorify some esoteric entity.. Look out for the overly zealous( Peter psalm 21..verse 44) for they will lead you to Oral Roberts University and thee know that oral before marriage is a sin

Another meaning is worship. Think on this. What can we give God? He has given us life and a planet perfect for our living with everything we need to survive and be well.

Since God created everything around us, of what use would He have for anything we can give other than our worship? Not much but it is all He asks back for so much.

Even though it may seem weird, God should be more important and you should love him more. He created you and gave you this great opportunity for life. Without him, neither you or your kids would be here.

You should want to praise God... He is so amazing and has given you so much--- more than you could ever know. It's just like saying thank you. I bet you would be upset if you did sooo much for somebody--- the most you could possibly ever do and you loved them always and looked out for them--- and then they never thanked you. You just have to think about it a little.

Hope that helped, and God bless you.

God doesn't need anything. God wants it.

It would be the same for you if your kid stood in front of the class and told everyone how much they love you. Wouldn't you be proud of them, even to tears?

Think of it that way and you'll get a better picture of it.

Your kids must not be teen-agers yet..lol

Anyhoo...you have a "god" then , sounds like...it is your kids.
I've heard worse, like booze, money,or education..they are Idols.

Bible says though...that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord...
