jews wear yamulkas

christians wear crosses

and muslims wear bombs.

other than that they all believe in hooey. Take away the yamulkas, crosses and bombs and when it boils down to it all religions are the same. A bunch of people believing in tall tales.

I don't know why people with so much in common over the years have fought each other so much over alleged "differences".

All three of these religions believe in the God of Abraham. Judaism came first, they use what Christians call the Old Testament as their scripture. It's called the Hebrew Bible otherwise. Christians came along next. About 2000 years ago a group of Jews thought that their Messiah had arrived, and they became Jesus followers. They were originally a sect of Judaism, but when the Jesus-followers demanded that all of the other Jews should join them, tensions rose. This group broke off and became Christians. There were many sects of Christians, but the major two that survived with the Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox Church. Eventually the Protestants broke away from the Catholics about 1500 years later. The Christians use the Christian Bible, which is the Hebrew Bible plus the New Testament. They do not have the dietary restrictions the Jews have, and they believe that Jesus is the Messiah. The Muslims came along third via the prophet Mohammad. They do not believe that Jesus was the son of God, instead they think he was also a prophet. Mohammad wrote the Koran, which is their sacred text. It is very similar to the Bible, and I believe the Muslims hold regard for the Hebrew Bible as well. After Mohammad died, that religion split into 2 groups: those that followed Mohammad's choice as leader, and those that followed a relative of Mohammed.

I could be wrong but how I understand it is that in both Judaism and Islam, god has yet to visit the earth in a material form. In Christianity, god came in the form of Jesus. What separates Islam from Judaism is that Muslims believe Muhammad was the final prophet.

But, like I said, I'm no theological scholar. But what's ironic is that they all believe in the same god. They just disagree on what that god has done...

Gerald: Judaism was one of the oldest religion, more than 5600 years.

Judaism doesn't force anyone to switch religion. its exact opposite. If person wants to accept judaism as religion rabbi will ask serious question, and give a time to think.

The old Testament included in the Bible was written from TORAH, If i'm not mistaken TORAH has 160 books or something.
