I got this black metal thing that protects the front and the front and ear lights from impact

dude, that thing can't possibly protect from a branch, the branch would just go right in between all the big holes in it.

It's called a brush/grill gaurd. It just helps the vehicle from bushes, braches and stuff that might damage the front.
