I have a part Siamese, part Tiger. I've heard that Siamese are mean. Mine does like to bite, but he's my boy. They are very independent cats. They are lovable when they want to be. He's gotten on very well from the beginning with my other cat. They play fight and chase all day long. Siamese are just as good as other cats.

Two things--they TALK a lot, because that's what they do.
And they BOND with you like a dog, a siamese cat has a very hard time adjusting to new people if someone gives them away--they make friends for life and will grieve very long if something happens that they can't stay with their people. If you get a Siamese, it should be for life, not just because it's neat or convenient. These cats are very intelligent and very one-person oriented.

I have a 4 month old, female, Siamese kitten. We have had her for 2 months now and our family absolutely loves her. I have 2 teenagers and Sophie is such a fun cat to play with. She runs around w/my 15 year old son like she is a dog...chasing balls and bringing rolled up socks back to him when he throws them. She is also a very loving cat. She is the best cat we ever had. The only time she meows is when she is looking for us. She'll start meowing and I will say something to show her someone is home and she stops right away. Absolutely the best personality for a cat! Good luck, I hope you find a great cat.

I would own no other kind of cat myself. I've had both and I love the way siamese cats bond with thier owner. They are usually a one family cat. They can be very vocal. My male "howls" alot for no reason but the female is quiet. They are very independent and smart cats. My female had kittens 2 months ago and I've actually got a male and female kitten for sale right now. Good luck on kitten hunting :)

I had one. Though she was a nice cat and I loved her, I will probably go with shelter cats for now on in the future - and pick the friendliest one I can - which is what I did after she died at age 19 last year. She was smart, but rather aloof and skittish, and very vocal. She became more affectionate as she got older and she was always my cat and warmed up to few other people, especially men (she just tolerated my husband). I truly enjoyed her older years better than her younger ones - she became less skittish and developed a more laid back, affectionate personality. They can live a very long time - some up to 25 years.

They are very cool looking... but they are pretty obnoxious. They cry all the time. They can't stand to have any door (especially the bathroom) closed and will cry loudly until you come open the door. They don't necessarily want to go IN TO the room, they just want the door OPEN.
I got lucky. I have two mixed breed cats that LOOK like siamese, but without all the annoying habits. I LOVE them!!!
Oh, and you spelled "siamese" perfectly.

I adopted a mama cat and her three kittens--all but one Siamese. They were all beautiful cats and very interesting. They make a different kind of sound than most other cats. The mama cat never made any sound at all but the kittens "talked". I've heard other people use that term since the sounds they make sound like talking.

Siamese cats are pedigreed cats with oriental bodies and pointed pattern. You will find pointed cats in other pedigreed breeds and household pets, too. Look to learn about the breed from www.tica.org and registered breeders. If a pointed without a pedigree interests you you will find them in animal shelters.

I have had a few siamese cats in my lifetime, my last one was named Muffin, she lived at least 14 yrs and died in my arms and i was heartbroken.......now my dads cat has come to live with us, and he is also
Tabby is a short haired gray and white standard cat. .....he's 93 and Tabby is at least 16 yrs old, she used to belong to us, but when his siamese cat Ming, (the merciless) died we gave Tabby to him, its weird but now they are both living with us, and they are a blessing. I love the Siamese breed of cat, when they are fixed they can be a bit calmer.....i raised one litter of the lavender point/and chocolate....the male I had was named, Ting Tang walla walla bing bang. he was a wild thing, and loved the 'ladies'......or Ting Tang for short.
....My Muffin was a chocolate point, and soooooooo sweet. i still miss her!!! They can tend to be very vocal, and some can have some wild personalities, just like people!! good luck in getting a siamese. Sharon T. from OHIO
