Don't go! It'll warp your mind!

2007-07-20 10:48:41 · answer #1 · answered by Brent Y 6 · 2 4

In the year 2001 I was in your shoes. I went with an open mind and an open heart.

By April, I was baptized, and I became a worker for the church.

In October of 2006, I was ordained a deacon. These past five years have been the absolute best of my more than 50 on this Earth.

I trust that if you go with an open mind and heart, you will be just fine. Also, don't just be a "Sunday" worshipper only. Get busy doing the work of the Lord.

There are plenty of things you can do at your church as a volunteer. Get involved in things! You may find that God has given you talents and skills that you have yet to discover.

You were designed for Ministry. See how it feels to be working as you were designed to!

Ok, I didn't even read your question and i apoligize. However, you really are getting on my nerves by reffering to me as an uneducated young man. I have gotten great grades throughout my life and have the documents to prove it. I am not a nerd that stays home all day. I actually enjot to go outside and hang out with my friends. You have never met me in your life so you shouldn't be talking about my intelligence, that is of course, you have nothing else to do. Also, I never said i "always" catch a ball one handed and it's not something I am going to go bragging about to a coach.

Don't be nervous. Its always a great moment when someone who has been away for a while comes back. You should be welcomed with open arms, if you're not, look for another church. Christianity is about love, not guilt. Enjoy your first time back.

Just relax, be yourself and pray that The Lord brings you peace. This kind of reminds me of the parable of the prodigal son. Jesus is going to be celebrating your return and so should the members of the church.

Maybe you should talk to the spiritual leader of the church for some advice before you attend, that way you'll know if they do anything special during services, and you'll know what things they're going to be talking about. I'm sure he or she would be happy to speak with you.

Please make sure the church you go to REALLY believes in the Bible. If you are sure about that, go without any preconceived ideas, listen to the Word, let the Spirit talk to your heart through the Word, and the rest will take care of itself.

I was going to say don't go but I though about it. Go. Look at the people who are there. Watch how the actually act outside of the church. You will notice the only time they are "good" people is when they show their public faces and their god faces. You will notice the hypocrisy and the evil.

You won't like the music. They've changed all the songs to a new age format that doesn't have that old time religion feel to it. They will bug you to be recommitted, maybe even rebaptized. Before 2 weeks is up you'll start seeing through the hypocrisy. Don't give them your phone number.
