Yo Penguin boy: I asked this same question using both "immaturity" and "maturity" and restricted both to people that agreed with each statement.

As one advances in age, one must consider ones mortality. Even some who spent their lives in opposition to the church have been observed to grow more religious as the shadows of impending demise grew closer around them. It is perfectly natural for individuals to seek meaning and resolution at the end of life's journey. For many, the concept of a God is all they have ever known, and in hope of some comfort and understanding often reach out to embrace it at last.

If you mean believe as in believe and act how God wants, or just the fact you believe. Completely different. One is a hypocrite the other is not.

I think if you follow God and actually realize that it's bigger than your current life, your mature because you have accepted the fact that he is there, and have decided to live for him, and not for material items, or little petty things that someone else who is not mature would live for.

If your mature you understand and comprehend the future and dont act foolish and live in the now.

But your question doesn't make much sense, because there are 3 year olds who believe in God. I think if you believe and act on how God would want, then you are mature to some factor because your giving up on things the average person wouldnt, and maturity is a realization to the truth, and you know you have to get things done instead of acting like a child and playing around all the time.

It's not. God may come and go from a persons life several times. There is nothing special about being a believer that makes them more mature or superior in any way to non believers. God may love you, Everyone else thinks your an biblical term for a donkey.

Believing in god is NOT the sign of maturity. There are other factors that are involved, however, based on your question you seem to think that is the case despite lack of evidence supporting your claims

i will answer this though u said not to. it isnt a sign of maturity, because ive truly beleived in god since the age of 7. i think that its considered that way because if you make the descison to beleive, then ur can make others too. howver, most people dont choose, because thats what they were raised. to beleive, or not. i think maturity is measured in other things, like ebing able to stay caalm in a chaotic environment, to make hard descisons without too much struggle, and to take conciquenses with grace. thats maturity, not beleiving in god.

I do agree very much, I think it is very mature to admit the we are under the law of God. Human nature likes to put its self fist so not only is it a sign of maturity it, I believe, is more so a sing of humility.

Believing in God doesn't make you "mature"; plenty of immature people believe in God. Indeed, the ones who are the most vocal and/or pushy about it are the least mature... take a look at what goes on in this forum, day in, day out.

Only mature people dont need to believe in a life after death. That FACT may frighten children.

Is it?
Another answer may be a sign of desperation when other systems have failed over a long period of time. Also, when one approaches death, a religious solution can seem more attractive than no solution at all.

Who ever said that? I personally think bible thumpers and their "my way or no way" attitude to religion is very immature.

Beside, I'm rubber and you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you! So THERE!
