to dental retainers?? my gums have gotton sore and swollen but only where the metal of the retainer hits...could i be allergic to the metal, or could it just be because my mouth isnt use to it??? please tell me your opinions and your experience if any... thanks for your help!

I got dental retainers and my gums are swollen too.. but it's because I'm not used to it. I use a type of mouth wash to help my gums heal faster. I think that the same thing happened to you, I don't know about any metal allergies though.

it could be the kind of medal or plastic your skin just does not like it I would phone the walk in clinic or your doctor soon in case it swell and you might have trouble breathing
