do hardcore chirstians still beiliev the number of the beast is 666? or have they got on to when they found that papirus(the oldest with the book of revilations) in which the number is 616?

All the major translations agree that the weight of manuscript evidence gives the number as 666.

Don't believe the distractions away from the Word of God.
'They' are saying MANY things, including that there were women apostles in the early church ( a word was 'translated wrong' - baloney) and other things to detract from or cast doubt upon God's Word as we know it.

Either way.........the number is actually the numerological number of Nero.....he was called the beast when he ruled. Find someone who does numerology for the answer.
