I'm making a drawing about allies in WWII using anti-aircraft guns, and I need to know what to look up. So far all I know is like the quad .50 cal, and 20mm cannon. Can you give me a list of some of them?

One more thing, which are the kind that explode in the air, like flak?

They also used an automatic cannon made by a Swedish firm,Bofers, in 37mm and 40mm. There was 3 inch cannon in the inventory in the 1930's and it was used extensively at the start of the war. There was also a 90mm cannon used. A radar controlled 75mm gun was introduced in the mid to late 1940's, but I don't know if it was used in WW2 or not. Why don't you Google "AA guns" and see what happens?

Google "proximity fuse."
This is how flak works.

Did someone mention the 40MM gun, it came in a single mount, a dual mount and a quad mount
The quad /50 could be mounted on a jeep. It was very deadly against aircraft and ground troops.
I believe it was called a "Chicago Piano."

some are 20mm stardust, and its frag. meaning fragmentation they explode by timer or altitude adjustment 50mm Gatling guns that the Russians had, kinda like our 20mm version.Back then everything was belt fed so a lot of jam ups.Poor guys probably try to lock in on a in coming plane and guns would jam and of course they became sitting ducks at target practice. You should look up some of the sites that military.com has to offer you will probably find everything you need.Good luck
