The word “Messiah” is an English rendering of the Hebrew word “Mashiach”, whose translation is “Anointed”. It usually refers to a person initiated into G-d’s service by being anointed with oil. (Having oil poured on his head. Cf. Exodus 29:7, I Kings 1:39, II Kings 9:3).

There are many Messiahs in the Bible. Since every King and High Priest was anointed with oil, each may be referred to as “an anointed one” (a Mashiach or a Messiah). For example: “G-d forbid that I [David] should stretch out my hand against the L-rd’s Messiah [Saul]...” I Samuel 26:11. Cf. II Samuel 23:1, Isaiah 45:1, Psalms 20:6.

Jesus is called THE MESSIAH because he was to be the last and final Israelite Prophet who was sent as a last chance redemption for the Jews who had killed so many Prophets.

If they were to deny him (even after a miracle birth and show of miracle healings etc) then an eternal curse would be put upon them.

The Quran also calls Jesus the Messiah for the Jews.

Islam also says that those who denied Jesus was a true messenger and Prophet (Messiah) ----- will be sent a “False Messiah” near the last days as a final Punishment.

Those who join him will be on the side of EVIL and those who oppose him will be on the side of Good.

This False Messiah will rule from Jerusalem and will be the most EVIL leader to come in the history of mankind.

Below is a link to the Quranic verses where Jesus is called the Messiah :

The claims of the Koran concerning Christ's death are completely bogus. We have multiple eye witness testifying of the event.

Read the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

As for other false claims the Koran makes in conflict with the Bible see http://www.bcbsr.com/topics/islam.html

If that was true, according to the Bible we would all go to hell because of our sins. Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins. Check this out:

1 Corinthians 15:1-5 Now I'm making known to you, brothers, the gospel that I proclaimed to you, which you accepted, on which you have taken your stand, (2) and by which you are also being saved if you hold firmly to the message I proclaimed to you-unless, of course, your faith was worthless. (3) For I passed on to you the most important points of what I received: Christ died for our sins in keeping with the Scriptures, (4) he was buried, he was raised on the third day in keeping with the Scriptures-and is still alive!- (5) and he was seen by Cephas, and then by the twelve.

1 Corinthians 15:12-22 Now if Christ is preached, that he has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? (13) But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither has Christ been raised. (14) If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith also is in vain. (15) Yes, we are found false witnesses of God, because we testified about God that he raised up Christ, whom he didn't raise up, if it is so that the dead are not raised. (16) For if the dead aren't raised, neither has Christ been raised. (17) If Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins. (18) Then they also who are fallen asleep in Christ have perished. (19) If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable. (20) But now Christ has been raised from the dead. He became the first fruits of those who are asleep. (21) For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man. (22) For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

Then you have shown the difference between the intentions of Allah toward man, and what God did for man.

Somehow, I find Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John a bit more trustworthy on the subject than I do Mohammed.

The Bible says that he was manifested to take away our sins and God planned from the beginning for his Son to die for us and Jesus did it willingly. Why would God save him from his own plan.

I disagree. But I also know that at the end of time, I will see truth, and know truth. Investigate deeper, and you may find the truth.
