I was at a Starbucks and I was waiting for my drink which was iced coffee with a shot of caramel and so I wasn't sure if this drink and there was no one standing around so I sniffed it to see if it had coffee and caramel in it and this lady comes from out of no where and starts yelling "Is that my drink?!? Now I need to get an entire new drink because you licked it! Why would you do that?" Then I said " I didn't lick it I was smelling it to see if it was mine. Sorry." She said "No, you licked it I saw you! Now I have to get a new one!" My friend standing in the back said "She just sniffed it, trust me" The lady just took the drink and stormed away. Isn't that weird and stupid???

She was in her late 20s early 30s...she looked sorta like the lead in hairspray except the lead in hairspray is pretty...I don't know if she wears contacts but she wasn't wearing glasses...

yes, it is weird. Truthfully speaking sniffing it is probably as bad. if you nose and breath is right at the drink germs are still there. If she was so upset she should have left it. Its silly to get mad but still take it. Why didn't the store call out names of the order like most do. They should have a responsibility to deliver the drink to the correct person too.
Sorry, it happened people are strange about things, just remember next time you want to get mad at someone (stranger) remember how you felt and don't make the same mistake, Maybe that is the lesson for you. You will be given the opportunity to change the next out come! Yeah! that's it.

She was right. Whether you sniffed it or licked it . But it was up to her to tell the staff at Starbucks to replace it because you sniffed it. And you should not have to buy her another. Be careful next time.

She thought you had licked her drink and confronted you about it. What's strange about that?
What is strange is that you apparently asked if the drink was yours, not convinced by the answer you decided to sniff it!! are you a sniffer dog. You must have thought that it wasn't yours. A normal human would have opended the lid.
