why would you want to be an athiest.
That means you would live without hope and die without meaning or a purpose.

1. Atheism is the belief that there is no divine being.

2. One generally becomes an atheist by a process of reading, thinking and conversation.

3. After you die, the world goes on pretty much as it had gone on before you died.

4. The spirit is the sum total of electro-chemical activity in the brain. When that activity stops, the spirit ceases to exist.

when you don't believe in God. I don't know how you become an Atheist, you just are. No classes to take or test to pass, you just are who you are and believe what is in your heart instead of what some guy preaches to you. No one knows what happens after you die, no one can tell you FOR SURE what happens after you die. I personally think that your spirit just hangs around the family and helps out with little voices that keep you on the right track :)

Atheists don't believe in god.

I think most atheists don't think anything happens when you die. It's the same nothingness as before you were born.

I don't think Atheists believe in a spirit. That's a religious belief.

Because of severe Alzheimer's disease and vegetative states. I think it shows that if your mind is not functioning then you are not "You" you are just a body being run by a primal brain.

I'm very happy with my beliefs. I'm an atheist who is moral and caring. But, open to any proof that god exists which I have never seen. And, content with everything just ending at death.

An atheist is a person without belief in God or gods. We don't become atheists, we actually begin our lives as atheists and have to be taught to believe in God or gods. After we learn to beleive in God or gods, we become theists.

Spirit is a Latin medical term for the air which is breathed in and out. The words inspire and inhale or expire and exhale are approximately the same.

When we die, we expire or exhale for the last time and the spirit or air goes out of our lungs. Hence, when our spirit leaves us we are dead.

Atheism is a lack of belief, not a religion. While organizations exist, there is no requirement to join one - you simply stop believing. Most of us came from religious backgrounds, and often it was our study of religions that brought us to disbelieve their claims. Atheists do not believe in gods, devils, angels, demons, souls, or spirits, for the most part. (There are some who have vague beliefs in such things, but they are pretty rare).

Most of us think after you die will be much like before you were born - no spirit/soul or afterlife.

Atheism is lack of belief in gods. You become an atheist when you realize that all of the god did it stuff is just myths. When you die you cease to be. There is no spirit/soul, this is just myth.

Atheism is the belief that there is no God that we are here from....there are alot of different beliefs on this one...I have found that most atheists have had some form of religion abuse them in some way...they dont believe in afterlife so they dont care about their spirits..they dont think they are a spirit..I find it ironic that they are so fast to say they dont believe in anything...but they believe that they dont believe...which IS believing in something....hehe
You become an atheist by the roads of hate and anger..I have never once met an athiest full of love...not once...they are quick to judge, condemn anyone who wont think like them. They lash out at everyone and usually have lives that are full of caos and turmoil...this is only from the ones I have met that I know I say this...when they die...they will learn the truth..but it will be to late by then....

Atheists do not believe in a higher power of any kind. You don't become an atheist; if you don't believe that there is any higher power controling your universe, then you just are one. Atheists do not believe that you have a spirit, therefore when you die, your just dead. Nothing.

Atheism is simply disbelief of the existence of a higher power, a god. It does not make the person evil or bad, anymore than a disbelief of santa makes you evil.
They believe when you die you decompose thats the end ain't no more. If you are not sure if you believe or not that is agnostic.

Atheism: a belief that there is no god or higher power

Atheist: one who believes in atheism. You become one by deciding that you do not believe in a god or higher power, and that science and logic have proven this to be true.

What happens after you die (according to atheists): your body decomposes

What happens to your spirit (according to atheists): if there is such a thing, it ceases to exist
