How do I put some weight on my English Pointer?

I have a English Pointer who is really skinny. We feed him a lot, two big meals a day with wet food and left overs becuase he doesn't eat dry food. He's very active and runs for hours up in the hills everyday. I've given him worm medication but doesn't seem to help. Sometimes he will go a couple days without eating. What can I do to get him to eat more and put some weight on?
