If your boyfriend really cares about you he will/should put forth the effort to bond with the dog.
If he's not willing to do that then he's not worth the effort.
And as stated already, don't let the boyfriend talk you into abandoning the dog for long periods of time. Get him to do things with you and the dog. Dogs are smart and can sense when you are neglecting them for someone else and will not be to tolerant of the boyfriend which will make it worse.
Always remember, A man who is kind to your dog will be kind to you.
If it comes down to it, the dog will always be loyal to you... the boyfriend??? Jury's still out.

Keep the Dog it will protect you.
There is a problem, some people like animals in the house and some do not. These are things we need to look at when choosing a mate. I may sound crazy, but believe me, you want a person that have at least some personality similar to yours.

Have a talk with him. Let him know for now it's fine if the dog doesn't go in his house- but you won't be staying over and leaving puppy home alone- he's welcome to stay over at your place.
Then ease into the subject. Let him know that the dog is a big part of your life and you won't be getting rid of it anytime soon- so if you ever reach a point where things get serious and you move in together the dog HAS to be welcome to. If he can't accept that then you need to move on. No one who loves you would make you choose.

Get a new boyfriend. Don't give up your dog, for sure.
4 months isn't very long, dump him now before you get more involved. It's not worth giving up a friend...if you like dogs, you guys will never be able to get married.

You know the answer to this yourself - keep the dog, dump the boyfriend.
Believe me, you will be happier. Any guy that really loves you, wants you to be happy and will make an effort to adjust to your life, the dog has.
This guy sounds controlling and capable of abusive behavior - say goodbye, find a dog lover like yourself.

If you plan on getting serious with this guy you really do need to sit down and talk. This dog is very important, he's your most loyal friend and cannot just dump him. Trust me if you don't say something now when you decide to move in together guess who'll be packing first..hint* it wont be you or your boyfriend.

Keep the dog. If the boyfriend is a keeper, he'll accept the dog. If he doesn't like the way you run your home, he's the one that doesn't fit. If he makes you get rid of your baby, or even worse, put it outside, he will make worse demands when he knows you will give in.

dog always trumps boyfriend. Why does your dog have to go in your boyfriends house? You have only been dating 4 months I don't think he is going to propose for awhile so don't stress about it until he offers you a big diamond ring then decide.
