I'm also 6'2". We had a 01 Stang convert. There was no room for anyone behind me. However, I could move the seat up until I was uncomfortable, and raise the rake of the seat, if I had to. But it was close up front.

The Stang's are really made for 2 people and 4 if you have to.
So the bottom line is, you can do it, but you wouldn't want to do it if you are going on a long trip. good luck.

If you decide on gettting one, Email me. I'll help you out.

I had an 02 mustang and the back seat wasn't even very suitable for children. I rented an 06 when I was in Florida. They talked me into a Mustang convertible for 10 bucks extra, over the Kia Rio I had reserved. I actually sat in the back the first time I put the top down, and I found the backseat leg room workable in the new Mustangs. I still wouldn't consider a Mustang a family car though. It's still more of a 2+2 like the original Mustang fastback.

I was really surprised that the new convertibles are very civilized. They top is fully insulated and lined with a headliner. No noiser than the hardtop. If I bought another Mustang I'd concider a convertable GT this time. I had always put my Mustang away during the winter months anyway.

Just go test drive a new Mustang. See if it's a good fit. I wish that I didn't sell mine when I got married, but I needed to save some money. I still miss it though.

Nope, not behind the driver. My 15mo old daughter kicks the back of my seat and I'm 6'. The passenger side is a bit better because there is no pedal assembly. If a freind goes with my family usually my wife rides in back with the kid and my freind will sit up front. Never had any complaints with leg room. Best bet is to take someone with you and visit a dealership. I took my daughters car seat with me to the autoshow and the dealership when I was looking at the car. Either that or set the front seat to where you would be comfortable and climb in the back.

The 05+ is four inches longer in the interior than the previous models due to it being on a larger frame.

I don't think so, I was looking at Mustangs at the dealer and looked at the rear seat room. On a 07 it looked like there was less rear room than my 1987 fox body Mustang, which is a bit smaller car.

Small people, or kids will be the only ones who fit in the back, and even then, not too comfortably...

I am 6'4" and must have the driver seat all the way back to be comfortable in my '99, my 7 y.o. kid has trouble sitting behind me.

Mustangs are not terribly practical cars, but if functionality is a hot button, you shouldn't be looking at Mustangs anyway...

The back seat on those cars is for decoration. In fact, you probably won't find very many coupes with any back seat leg room, especially when the guy sitting in front is 6'2"

I have a '07 Shelby GT and I don't think you could fit a hobbit back there at all let alone comfortably.

if you are 6'2", then in order to fit in the car you will have to take out the front seat and sit in the backseat yourself. so, no there will not be any room for anyone behind you unless they're in the trunk.

HINT: Go to dealership. Put salesperson in seat behind you, adjust seat to your liking. Ask them "got enough room there sport?"
