In Saudi Arabia the working days are Saturdays to Thrusdays (if you get a 2 days weekend).

In the UAE the working days are Sunday to Thursday (if you get a 2 days weekend).

Weekends in Saudi are Thursday and Friday
Weekends in the UAE are Friday and Saturday.

Both countries require a 48 hours working week.

This is the standard, but can be different concerning your contract/offer.

I for i.e. work in the UAE and my contract says 40 hours the week. It depends a whole lot if you work for the private or the govt. sector.

Take care.

right now Sat thru Wed is the normal 5 day work week for big corporations, with small business working also on Thurs which is Saudi's first weekend day.. Thurs and Fri.. BUT.. they are planning on changing this I think at the end of this year to Fri and Sat being Saudi's weekend days. They have been saying this for a couple of years because most of the wests weekend is Sat and Sun, and when we have Thur and Fri off, then come back to work Sat, we loose then 4 business days of work while dealing with the west, so to make more money (yes, its all profit minded these days) we will change 1 day, to gain more profit...

It depends on which level of job you are in. If you are in a so-called senior position, then it's a 5-day week, if not then you work a 6-day week. It can also depend on the industry. If commercial, then you could find yourself on a 10-hour, 6-day week.

But, as I say, for senior positions, it's 5 days per week - 40 hours!

To my knowledge the average person works every day apart from Friday. But if you get a promotion in a good job you can get Saturday off too.
