How can you know for sure if you are saved? Consider 1 John 5:11-13 (NLT): "And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have his Son does not have life. I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life." Who is it that has the Son? Those who have believed in Him and accepted Him (John 1:12). If you have Jesus, you have life. Eternal life. Not temporary, but eternal. All you have to do is accept Jesus in your life and you will be saved. You will be in his presence for all eternity! What a GLORIOUS prospect!

You cannot know for sure that you are saved. Scripture tells us "he who endures to the end, he shall be saved". We can be sure that we will be saved if we endure to the end of our earthly lives. But we cannot be sure that we will endure. We all know people who lived as devout Christians for a time, sometimes a very long time, and then wandered off into worldly living. Protestants look at these people and say, "well, they were never saved in the first place". CORRECT! And neither is anyone else. Salvation happens - or does not happen - at the end of our earthly lives. That's why Paul compares earthly life to a race. Everyone knows that the prize is awarded at the end of a race, not during the race itself.

The only salvation you'll ever need is saving from religious manure like this. Unfortunately, that will never be certain, because there are plenty of gullible suckers willing to buy it and spread it.
