Unless your cat has bald patches, thin spots or a skin condition, then it's normal as cats shed year round. Some shed more in winter but they do shed year round.

I don' think they do, I've looked at a couple of site and the general consensus seems to be that long haired cats shed more that short haired. A cat can have over 150,000 hairs per square inch, which gives you a little forewarning of the shedding potential of any cat. It isn't the length of hair, but usually the environment that determines the shedding level - in warm seasons (or in a warm house) any cat will shed more than in a cooler environment. Cats fur can range from thick to very fine, which will help determine how visible their shed hair will be around your house and on your clothing. The finer, longer fur will tend to show up as clumps of fur, whereas a shorter hair will tend to leave an even coat everywhere.

In most cases cats loose their fur in the summer when its hotter out, but they also stress shed like people do. It may be hard to believe but animals can get stressed just like humans but for different reasons. Try changing one thing at a time to try figuring out whats causing the stress. Or if its heat related, try keeping a small fan in a place where it likes to stay most often. Always brush it to get the loose hairs off and to keep them from sticking ti your furniture and clothes.
I hope this helped,
let me know how things work out for you and your cat.

Yes it's normal. Both my cats shed alot all year long. Domestic short-hairs. If you brush them out with good cat comb/brush (wire bristles seem to work the best) at least once a week it helps alot.

It's normal, get used to it. No outfit is complete without cat hair. Dr.s Foster & Smith have diatary supliments that are suposed to help with shedding, but I've never bothered, I don't mind the cat hair, it blends in with the dog hair.

I got three short hairs myself and it is totally normal for them to shed especially in summer. You just gotta brush them when they are in an affectionate mood at least every other day.

ESPECIALLY in summer, this is very normal. She's getting rid of her winter coat (just as the summer coat is gotten rid of during winter).
Help her out by brushing her. That way she won't swallow so much loose hair when she grooms (and you get fewer hair balls).
