Windows Vista is something new. Give it some time before getting it. Usually when you upgrade to vista you have to upgrade programmes, hardware devices e.t.c

Pros:
Great Interface
Better Features
Better Security in my opinion
does not crash nearly as much
if a program does freeze, no need ctrl, alt, delete because it fixes itself.
Drivers already in Vista so plug in the printer for example and it is ready to go.

Con's
Some incompatibility with software mainly, and some hardware
User Account Control can be a little annoying.

Even though there is a couple Con's I really love Windows Vista and do not regret getting it at all. From here on out Vista can only get better. Also make sure you get Home Premium or Ultimate, home basic isnt any good.

Fewer viruses and spyware affecting it right now

Cons:
Requires hardware upgrades in most cases
Expensive to get all of the features
Not all software and hardware is compatible yet
Some claim it's slower than XP
User Account Control is annoying

Pro's it has good graphics

Con's it won't run most hardware or software and not many games out yet that will run with it.

I read an interesting article on Vista just today, read this article it pretty much sums it up. Link is below for your use.

Vista sucks right now, and almost everyone I know that has it has deleted it and gone back to XP. Most of the major computer companies have stated that because of how bad vista is they are starting to sell the new pc's with xp on them again.

Pro: it's what you'll get when you buy a new PC or a new piece of software, so get used to it...

Con: XP runs every bit as well
