It would not be considered rude if the caller cannot hear you peeing.
If you have to go, and cannot end the call, turn on the faucet in the bathroom and let it run while you do your business. When finished, wash your hands and turn the faucet off. The caller will have no idea what you are doing and will not be offended. If the caller asks what you are doing, tell them you were washing your hands.

I don't do it as I wouldn't like the person I'm talking to doing that.
The topic of conversation most probably it's not that important that it can't be interrupted for 5 minutes to go to the bathroom.
Imagine you're somewhere (like a restaurant) having a drink with a friend. Do you take her to the bathroom when you need to go in order not to stop the conversation? NO. Then why would you do it when you're on the phone?
Being on the phone should be like being face to face. You shouldn't do what you don't want to be seen by other people.

Not rude at all. Depending on who I'm talking to, I might let them know what I'm doing. In some cases, I'll put the phone near the bowl so they can have a good listen.
And it's because of this sort of behavior that grandma doesn't call me anymore.

Yes it is rude. If i am talking to someone on the phone i do not want to hear someone urinating or a toilet flush in the background. What could possibly be so important to talk about that it can't wait until you are finished using the facilities??

I only do that with my really close friends and with like maybe my mom or brother on the phone...with other people I wouldn't do that because it's a little embarrasing...I mean they will ask what the noise is and I wouldn't want to to say that it is me going pee while I am on the phone with them

They've gotta be pretty close friends or relatives for me to do that. There's only a handful of them. But I have been known to pee while talking to someone I really don't want to talk to, like a telemarketer. They don't know me, who cares? They were rude enough to call, I can pee. Now pooping is another matter, that's always rude in my book.

It depends on who you're talking to. Anyone other than immediate family or friends you've known all your life deserve your full attention when on the phone.

Depends on who you're talking too. I pee while talking to friends all the time but I would never to it to a complete stranger unless I had the noise cancellation button on so they couldn't hear.

yeah, a little. But if you have to go, you have to go, right? Some people just don't stop talking long enough to tell them you'll be right back. I usually actually just take the phone, put it down outside the bathroom door, go quick and rush back out (after washing my hands quick, too), and they usually won't even notice.
