It's an amazing back and forth battle. Christians cry out "Prove there is no God" and Atheists decry "Prove there is a God". All this fighting on earth to get to a death that proves that neither side knows exactly what transpires after death. The only true answer is that some people believe that they are somehow special and above the other species of the earth in a spiritual way and thusly are destined to spend time in a paradise with the creator. And others believe that we all come from the same creator, and no one species gets special treatment, because the creator is a kind, loving and just creator who could never sentence his divine creations to an eternity of punishment. The lamest thing is to argue about it in this forum, as no one looks any the wiser, and both parties end up looking stupider. That is why it is not wise to discuss your personal religious beliefs in a public forum.

I think atheists are cocky because they are so confused and weak and scared that they'd rather not face the music. Instead they'd rather bash it, for some reason unknown to me, and make a point of offending others with it. They think they know right from wrong, good from bad but have no clue who set those standards. If what I am saying isn't the sad truth then I don't think they would be on here doing what they are doing. They would simply ignore religion whenever possible and wouldn't have the desire to post these types of questions. They think christians are so wrong for what we believe after death but yet in the same breath will tell you they know for a fact where they are going when they die. Yet they have no idea....

I think about as much of them as I do the Christians who do the same thing. Which is very little at all. We have serious problems facing us today. Problems that actually end lives, and I am really saddened by so many people expending their energy arguing about Christianity and Atheism. If you are a true believer, emulate Christ. Roll up your sleeves and get to work. You'll attract a lot more people that way than with fruitless, senseless arguments.

I think it is just as valid a some religious person doubting evolution.....beliefs are just that beliefs
God's existence can not be proven....nor can evolution---they are both theories based upon belief and what we can observe...we can see how evolution worked in the long long ago but we do not see it today, just like we have "records" of God's miracles in the long long ago but do not see it today.
THAT IS THE BEAUTY OF FREE WILL AND FAITH...choosing what to believe because it is right for the individual
live and let live--->you don't get a bonus for being the most "un-Christlike"
love God and love each other-that is what Jesus said
are you doing as Jesus would do by judging someone else based on your understanding of YOUR FAITH? Are you perfect? I thought it was judge not lest you be judged? do you live up to your own religions standards all the time??
Let God be the judge since after all it is HIS JOB.
peace

What do you think about Christians?
What do you think about christians who post ambiguous questions based on their lack of understanding for the sole purpose of making a point of Atheism and/or ridiculing it, and tho then fail to give examples of what they mean, or of their supposed "point"?

Anyone who ridicules something but has almost no idea or knowledge on their own standpoint is someone I'd hardly acknowledge. I'm a christian, but I'm know enough to keep out of other's affairs and to keep my beliefs to myself. I don't force anything I think on anyone else, and I encourage people to choose the path they think that fits them. To me, its all about what makes sense. If God makes sense to you, follow him. If the concept of God doesn't, then don't believe in him. Everyone has the choice to believe what they want, and everyone needs to utilize that choice. Someone may be able to force you into doing particular rituals or attend certain events that counter your beliefs, but nobody can keep your mind from accepting or not accepting something. You control what it is that you believe in...you alone decide what path is right for you. Nobody should try to force their system onto another under the premise that they are right, and the other person is wrong. There is no knowledge of which system/religion is right, there is only beliefs.

Frankly, I see childish questions and anwers on both sides of the arguement. Not a few, but many. I mostly go to the mythology and folklore section to get spiritual answers.
Do you find that a little bit sad? I do. That's how it goes. There's more time wasting stupidity on the R/S section than interesting info.

It's their choice. It's a free country. When you choose to be a Christian, that was your choice.
Believer ridicule them too, the same way that they ridicule Christians. As long as no one's violating the law, or anyone getting physically hurt, then it should be ok right?
The real question here is who is going to stop the ridicule first? Who do you think Christ would want to stop first?

Why do Christians always try to convert people no matter what the question?
BTW- many atheists converted from Christianity. They have a firm understanding of Christianity. They just don't buy it.

They're the kind that are just as annoying or as hard to understand as the kind on the other side of the fence.
It's a people-issue, not atheism or theism.
