Try putting it in a very big box, then a smaller, box, and a smaller box and a smaller box, each box wrapped beautifully and inside one another until they get to the money.

What a great idea :)
Lets see... You can always find a smaller briefcase... or a storage cubby... Those photography boxes would help as well. If you go to a craft store (or even Target or Wal-Mart), photo boxes or craft boxes that have a latch and open from the top would be cute. You could put a bow around the box and when they open it, a bunch of dollar bills would be all they see.
You could also try jewelry boxes, or a huge vase... an aquarium? I'm grasping now :)

You could give them a jug of quarters, or find a small case ( they have these silver makeup cases that look like mini briefcases) I also like the giant box idea - with the boxes getting smaller and smaller.
Ooh - how a bout some sort of jack in the box contraption or the springy snake that jumps out of a can where when they open it the money flies out a them. You can put the money on top of the snake (i don't have a better name for it) and close the can - when they open it they will have a shower of money everywhere.

Dollar coins in a silk bag
A "dollar store" photo album with largish denominations of bills in each picture slot
Get a photo box and put the 350 bills in it. Now (and this might take time), put slips of paper with quotes, song lyrics, good wishes, ideas for spending the money, WHATEVER in between the bills.
Or do the same thing you were thinking about, just in a purse... maybe something terribly gawdy! That could be funny.

Ok, bear with me...A crumpled up brown paper bag. When I bought my first truck, my dad offered to give me a $1000 down payment. I called him to tell him I found the one I wanted, he told me to come by the house, he had $1000 in a brown paper bag for me. I did, and, well, he did. I thought he was just kidding, he wasn't. He owned a car wash, and he had been saving the dollar bills from the bill changer. Even better was the look on the salesman's face when he asked if I had a deposit and I showed him my paper bag of dollar bills. He told me it was OK to write a check and they'd hold it a few days until I could put my bag o'bills into the bank!! You can crumple up the bills to throw him off even more! Best wishes!

Use 3 $100 bills and one $50 displayed in a pretty picture frame. This way the couple can see right away how much money it is and it's fun, plue they get to keep and use the picture frame.

it 's a lot of work but tape them all together to form a long chain of bills and at spencer's gifts you can get a box called a money machine that you can roll up the bill and put into it .

I've seen this once before and thought it was a nifty idea. They made the bills into paper flowers and gave it as a vase of flowers gift. They stuck some of the bills into the tissue paper and somehow - made leaves out of other bills. It was neat.

Buy one of those palm plants from Wal-Mart or a Ficus tree and attach the dollar bills to it...tell them it's not true that money doesn't grow on trees! Cute gag gift but one I'm sure they'll have fun counting!

Why does it have to be funny? It's a wedding. Why not a nice card and personalized messages from each person?
I'm all for funny and joking around. However, there is a time and place for it. A wedding, no matter how well you know the couple, is not the time or place.
Just give the money in a card. I mean, are you going to bring that suitcase to the wedding ceremony and reception? I hope not.
