She has been having this bloody discharge for about 20 hours and yet no kittens. She wants us to rub her tummy and pet her. Is she in labor or should I get her to the vet???

CALL YOUR VET...ask them, this is beyond my scope. A friend says if the discharge is minimal, this could be normal, but she says the discharge is pink-ish, not pure blood. I still say call the vet, my vets are always happy to answer any concerns I have over the phone when that will suffice, and tell me to bring them in when I need to be concerned.

i might say that it incredibly is common for the mummy to have the liquid from the amniotic sac pop out in the time of the start, and a few very small volume of blood does not be undesirable. If she lines to offer start for an prolonged time, do take her to the vet. In each and all of the years I had canine I observed extremely elementary births, yet one final Border Collie lost her total clutter and of course the domestic dogs have been ineffective till now transport, so she had a poor time. I took her to the vet while the 1st puppy exchange into born ineffective, and valuable sufficient, all of them have been. I had to bypass by that trauma on my own, no person domicile to help, yet fortuitously my vet exchange into in simple terms four hundred and forty yards from my domicile. that ought to have been an exceptional clutter, stable bloodlines, yet i'm in simple terms happy the vet exchange into in a position to maintain her existence. She lies at my ft as I variety this, and that i'm so chuffed I made the alternative to no longer wait any greater. Toy canine on occasion have a worse time of it in transport, so watch her intently. stable success!

She is in labor. She is getting ready to have the kittens. If you want, rub her tummy. It will help relax her. If there are no kittens by tomorrow, you may want to take her in.
