We will confront him/her if the sin is severe and it is something we know of.
But we need to be personally responsible to leave our sins to God for forgiveness. It is worse if the teacher has a sin problem. We all sin. All sins are going to be forgiven when asked forgiveness.

I think thats the tendency, and not just with christians but any religion, when a "high ranking" minister of sorts sins, people react in one of two different ways, either they out right reject the person and put him off as an outcast or they ignore it and turn the other cheeck. Ofcourse the more serious the sin the less likely it is that people will ignore it. It is seldom the case that people recognize that their pastor has committed a sin and then forgve him, because the pastor (or father, or rabbi etc) is the symbol of holiness and pureness in peoples eyes, so it is difficult to see him sinning and defying religion.

A pastor is not sin free yet must confess his sins to be cleansed regularly from all unrighteousness...but if he is continually sinning in something or has commited a great sin then he should confess it publically to who is involved and if he doesnt, one should go to him and tell him in private and then if that doesnt lead to a repentance then go with 2 or 3 witnesses....if this still does not work then he needs to go. Pastors are viewed at through a microscope and no one wants to listen to a man who doesnt practice what he preaches. There are many good pastors out there, dont let the few bad apples let you stumble...just ignore them and dont follow their direction and find another church. Pastors are more accountable to God and if they are sinning they will have higher consequnces. Dont fret because of evil doers.

It depends on what kind of sin. Everyone sins. If it's not something immoral, illegal or unethical just pray for him to be a better pastor. If it falls into one of the above categories, you may want to consider changing churches. A pastor is supposed to be "blameless" (l Tim. 3:2). He is supposed to be a role model to the congregation. Certainly the first step before leaving the church would be to pray for wisdom about what to do.

A pastor should be aware of his sins and seek forgiveness and repent. If this shows to be the case, then we are not in the judgement seat.
If he continues in the sin , then we are to treat him as we are anyone else. Send representatives of the church to confront and counsel with him. This is an effort to reconcile him back to God. If he does this, renounces the sin, then yes, we are to forgive.
In the extreme case that he refuses counsel and repentance, he could be removed from his position.
If he is guilty of a crime, he should be reported to the authorities.

I would hope that he (minister / pastor) would ask for forgiveness and repent of his sin (as any Christian would do.) Jesus forgives!
It's none of my business, it's between him and the Lord.
Peace and grace to you!

Ted Haggard went to rehab, where he was cured of homosexuality in 2 weeks. That makes him eligible for forgiveness.
