Just wondering about Christians and sexiness. Is it an appearance women (and men?) should feel free to adopt? That is, is it okay for a man/woman to go beyond making herself look good/attractive and deliberately make herself look sexy? Would it make a difference if she is engaged/married or not?

We should not cause someone to stumble. If a woman shows up at Church in a see through blouse or a man shows up and his shirt is unbuttoned, exposing his manly chest, it could make someone not be able to focus on Gods word, causing a henderance. You can still be conservative and sexy. A black fitted suit looks good on almost anyone.

Also Gods Word says "Thou shall not covet". You see something provocative and you might lust after them.

The subject is for christians, so NO, men nor women should go beyond modest apparel. Men are very visual and it don't take much, no harm meant by that, just the nature of things, and women are not the same, but WILL find themselves in private competition with looks with clothes....we are not to be an object that pulls anyone else in any way, we are not to attract the attention that way, we all can look good, and attractive, but best to leave the idea of going for sexy to others outside the christian arena. NO makes no difference single, married, male or female. We are not to be a temptation to others. Be blessed. This just should not be a problem if we choose to do right...

The most challenging verses in the Bible regarding "sexiness" for me are the following:
"But among you there must NOT BE EVEN A HINT of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving." Eph. 5:3-4

God wants me to look well-groomed to represent Him well, but I want people to be attracted to Jesus, not my body, when I meet others.
"YOUR BEAUTY should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.Instead, it SHOULD BE THAT OF YOUR INNER SELF, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." 1.Peter 3:3-4

I believe this should be the goal of every true Christian whether male of female, single or married. And the motivation shouldn't be legalism but LOVE. Loving others enough to not stumble or tempt them.

I appreciate it when women dress more conservatively. Lord knows I have enough trouble keeping my mind away from lust without the temptations of a sexily dressed woman.

What if she just IS sexy? No extras required here..........I make my yoga pants look hot and I am not even trying (I can't believe I just typed this, it feels pretty liberating)

Seriously, some people make me salivate and they are just wearing regular togs and nothing revealing.
