no prescription glasses don't cause itch. headache maybe, but not itch. It is much more likely that you have an allergy to some sort of pollen.

I m having the same problem now: each time I wear my new prescription I end up with burning itchy eyes. If I stop wearing them or return to my old prescription, the itching stops immediately and the burning subsides after a couple of days. I am convinced it is due to the prescription: I have tried it 3 times now, and each time I get the itching and burning, though in the periods when I wear my old glasses I am perfectly fine.
The opticians also suggested I may be allergic to the plastic, but I have worn plastic glasses before without problem, plus I get the same reaction with both new pairs.
So far the only conclusion I have come to is that the prescription may be too strong for long distance view, but this is a totally uninformed guess... Any suggestion?

the itchies are caused by things like alergies to trees, flowers, polen, etc. or pets, or perfume, if someone has painted a room, dust, or maybe even just eye strain. Don't rub them. There are things called "tears" that you can buy like at walgreens and just put a drop in each eye and the itchies should be relieved. There is also something called visene you can try for tired eyes to get the red out.

Your glasses wouldn't cause this, it sounds like your problem is some sort of allergy. You could try eye drops, over the counter antihistamines, or you could go to the doctor. Also, if you haven't had an eye exam in 2 yrs, it's definitely time for one.

I don't think it is glasses. I think you should pick up some Visine Tears. Your eyes probably aren't making enough tears, sometimes my eyes do that, and they get dry and itchy. Do not rub your eyes.

What a load of rubbish...it s definitely plastic lenses., Because they are cheap to mass produce and charge you extortionate prices..?
Although pollen and dust can also cause the problem also because of the static attraction created by the plastic...
Static electricity caused by the plastic lenses..Don t get fobbed off.?
