I have been on birth control for about half a year now (nuva ring) and latley my body has been completley out of wack. I skipped one period on purpose with my doctors permission, and immedietly after starting my new ring I started light, brown bleeding/spotting. Two weeks of this, then it turns into full out bright red period blood which has lasted more then a week and shows no signs of stopping (my usual period since having my baby is 4-5 days) and is still a week early of what it should have been. Latley, also, I have been sick to my stomach, nauseated, exhausted, my breasts ache and have grown, my stomache has pooched, and all in all except for bleeding I feel pregnant all over again. I called my doctor but after listening to about 1/3 of my question they assumed they knew what I was saying, answered a question I didnt ask, and hung up. I've taken out my ring for now to let my body get back to normal, but I still dont know whats wrong with me! Please help!

You dont need to make me or anyone else feel like a moron because of wanting to skip a painful and ill-timed period. none of the 'possible side effects'

You dont need to make me or anyone else feel like a moron because of wanting to skip a painful and ill-timed period. none of the 'possible side effects' I read or was told were like this, so of course I'm wondering whats going on. I cant switch to the pill because, frankly, I wouldnt remember it every day. I already tried the patch and that just made me sick.

I think you should stop using the nuva ring and go back to the old fashioned pill. These new types of birth control, especially the ones that allow maybe three periods per year, are not good for your body. Your body is telling you to stop messing with it. I'm not familiar with the nuva ring, but if you have use it, perhaps there are different dosages you can experiement with. For example, I take a pill with a lose dose of estrogen. Perhaps that might help you.

dam i wish i knew what to tell u.... my friend was on birth control for over a year and she was having similar symptoms. so she stopped the birth control because all the hormones inside of her where making her body all weird.... her body went back to normal.... if i was you i would get a second and a third opinion because it may be something serious....

you use artificial methods to "skip" a period and don't expect any consequences? get real! You just have to wait for your body to recover before using the ring again.
