When iTunes loses the song, you get a ! mark next to the song in your library. Click on the song and iTunes will prompt you to locate it.

Can it do automatically.......not really.

Think of it this way. iTunes is your friend Joe.

You live at 100 Main Street, Anytown USA. Joe knows where you live, comes over to see you often.

You move to 500 Main Street, Differenttown USA. But you didn't tell Joe that you moved.

You tell Joe to come over. Joe shows up at 100 Main Street, because he doesn't know you moved. But, if you asked Joe to help you move, you wouldn't have this problem.

Once iTunes has a song imported it doesn't know if you changed something about the song unless you used iTunes to make the change. To change something about a song in iTunes, right click on the song, pick "get info" then the info tab - and you can change the data there. Then iTunes knows it, cause it helped you move;)
