It's good to see there is at least one person in that organization that is not a complete moron. Any rational person can see that there will be genocide if we remove our troops.

There is already religion-based genocide now. Sunnis, Shiites, and to a lesser extent because they're fewer in number, Kurds are all killing each other.
It's a mess. It was a mess before we ever got there. We didn't help as much as everyone thinks by invading. With or without Saddam the people of the country were brutal to each other.
Al Maliki said that Iraq could handle it if we left... so I say we go. Not abruptly. Phased withdrawal over six months, we turn everything over to them.

Maybe we should ask the United Nations to take a vote. I mean that is what they are there for isn't it? If the United Nations feels we should leave, then, we leave. If they think we should stay, then we ask for help from the other United Nations countries for involvement. I really think this is our answer. Get the World involved so we stop looking like the guilty party. Oops...but that is what is happening. So, that means that we have to abide by what the United Nations says, so maybe we should start shifting our blame on them and we'll be out of this mess quicker, or at the very least, other nations will have to blame the UN and not the USA.

Wow, it the NY Times really said that then it's the first time I actually agreed with them. The military needs t stay there to finish the job or we will be branded cowards and the insurgents will over run Iraq and take it over so there'd be more than one Saddam.

The Liberal Bible said that!? You know, this has been the defense for staying ever since the Democrats proposed waving the white flag. But now that the NY Times reports it, it's like a whole new thought....is this really something Liberals hadn't thought of before now?

Not that I'd really miss any of the victims of that potential genocide, but, no, I'm still thinking we're prettymuch stuck there.

I knew once we got in we would never be able to leave. I am for reduction of troops and the switching of mission to making it a humanitarian efforts that involve prevention of genocide and ensuring a growing form of Democratic govt

Well then i'm up for pulling out of Iraq. I don't really care what happens over there. I'm just concerned about our borders. We have other things to worry about here.

If we pull out now, the terrorists will view that as a victory for them, and a loss for us. This would not bode well for our future securities as terrorist cell's will see that the U.S. is not unstoppable, and they're bravery will only grow, taking their attacks to our soil.
