1) Retin-A or Differin
Have used both & gotten good results. They promote cell turnover & collagen production. Kept my skin clear.

2) Series of microdermabrasion facials.
Excellent results after series of 5 facials. However, varies w/ skill level of technician. Must have done 2x/year to maintain results or have a facial peel.

3) Facial peel
Good for maintenance.

I had shallow acne scars & put these in the order I recommend them.

Microderm Abrasion and Chemical Peels are entirely two different products. MDA is a physical exfoliate and the Chemical Peel is a Chemical Exfoliate that uses fruit acids to loosen up dead skin so that it is easier to be removed.
Microderm Abrasion (MDA) is the best. It can get very pricey if you have it done in a salon or dermatologist's office. However, there is one MDA that I can recommend. It Resurfaces skin for a reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles, a minimized appearance of pores, age spots and acne scars, and a more youthful, radiant glow. Same exact product that the dermatologist use. It is packaged to be used at home. It was voted as the BEST at home MDA on the market by Goodhouse Keeping. Be careful of other MDA's. Their buffing material could leave pits and crevasses in your skin. Not a look that you would want.
You can order this MDA at www.beautipage.com/melissacarter
Use once per week at night before bed. Apply a good moisturizer after. (oil free, of course).

You can use a Chemical Peel 2 times a week but not on the same day that you use MDA. You can purchase a great Chemical Peel on that same site.

I had a series of in-office peels from a plastic surgeon. That only made my complexion worse and the last peel burned me so badly the aesthetician worried that she had damaged me permanently!!

My advice is don't do it.

I found the Philosophy skin care line and it has helped me wonderfully. As for peels, their Vitamen C Micro Delivery Peel is fantastic! I use it once a week, you can use it twice a week if needed. Your complexion will be like a baby's after a few treatments!!
