This will help you build muscle and muscle burns fat. However, if you want to get lean...you should be doing "aerobic" exercise which burns fat faster. This would be treadmill (walking or running), exercise bike (cycling), stepper, cross-trainer, rowing...etc. You need to raise your heart rate to a certain bpm for at least 20 minutes. This bpm depends on your age and current weight.

yes indeed it does. Cardio also helps u loose fat. But weight training does add muscle to the body. Your best bet is to do a combination of both

yeah it turns your fat into muscle and burns calories you might not lose weight by weightlifting but you will look a lot better
