The actual problem is that the male gods never ask the female gods for directions.

Hypothetically
God is female. The message was passed on to Male prophets and therefore was completely miss understood in the first place.

I dunno, though. If there were a god, I don't think it would have a gender, unless there was more than one. No need for gender if you don't reproduce.
