No I don't because it's about as sensible as believing that everyone on earth who was born on the same day has the same possibilities for any given day to go a certain way.

My husband has been retired for 3 yrs and yet his "horrorscope" keeps talking about his work. Apparently the stars aren't that aware of what goes on down here.

Feng shui--destiny through interior decorating. Wild.

Well, first, I am "non-Asian" (Caucasian) and yes, I do believe in feng shui. In fact, there are many, many non-Asians out there that DO believe in feng shui (check out groups on meetup.com or here in Yahoo!). :) Actually, in my opinion everyone does but they may not realize it.

Feng shui is simple, it's about energy. Why do you think politicians wear a red tie? It's a power color. When you want to go on an interview, what outfit do you wear? You put on something that makes you feel confident, don't you? That's feng shui. When you walk into a house and you get that warm welcoming feeling, that's feng shui. The same as if you walk into a cluttered home (perhaps even dirty) and go "ewww" and want to leave. That's feng shui. You are feeling the energy of the space. That's all there is to it.

Feng shui is about being in tune with the energies around you: at home, at work, in stores, wherever you are and if it's off-balance or unhealthy (and you can feel it), you either leave (as in away from a really negative person), or you re-arrange things or paint or declutter until it feels "right" to you.

No matter who you are, what you believe in, where you live, we all have a sense of feng shui or a "gut instinct" about someplace or someone. Here are examples: "I hate that color, it makes me look and feel like death warmed over." or "I don't want the sofa there because it blocks the pathway to the kitchen." or "Why did they paint the wall that color? Eww!" or after you've decluttered your closet or the garage, you get that sense of "I can breathe!" or when you are sitting at a desk with your back to the door and you feel "funny" or uncomfortable/vulnerable and then someone startles you by walking up to you from behind. That's not good energy, right? It's upsetting, if only for a moment but it is disconcerting. If you look at the offices of most powerful or successful men and women, you'll note that their desk and chair face the door to their office. These are all examples of feng shui; reading the energy of a space. Feng shui helps you in finding the balance when you feel something is "off" or just not quite "right".

And there are general guidelines out there but everyone is different and feels different about colors and places/spaces. In some cultures, white is associated with death; here in the U.S. black is the color we associate with death. Other places in the world, black is associated with spirituality. So, you learn the basics and then adapt the guidelines to what you need (and where you live) in order to feel good or great about your room, your home, your workspace, your health.

Everyone practices feng shui unconsciously anyway; when you arrange furniture or choose wall colors or tack up favorite posters of things you love, or decide what to wear. We all practice it without even realizing it. The conscious practice of feng shui helps you see that and takes it a few steps further so I don't feel it's necessarily a matter of belief. It's a matter of acknowledgment and then utilizing tools and knowledge which can benefit and enhance you and your surroundings.

I wasn't aware feng shui was really something you believe in. What I understand of it is that it is a just a way to balance the energy in your environment. I do adjust my surroundings to fit with the ideas of feng shui, because I've noticed it does make a difference in how I feel.
And I'm not Asian.

i am asian. and i do practice fengshui. but i don't obssessed about it.

fengshui is not a belief. you need to understand that fengshui is not about faith. it is not a philosophy nor a religion. it is neither based on intuition. fengshui is like math, you need to understand the fengshui concepts. learn and study them. then apply them out. when you apply them, you literally adjusts a door to a particular degree (as in direction it faces), or put a moving water like a fountain or an aquarium in a particular area. these are just some of the fengshui solutions, which is meant for something. most people who do not understand fengshui tend to think that it is hocus pocus, mainly because of the false info they get from what is known about fengshui that is freely obtained from media or the internet.

i do not constantly believe in fengshui. fengshui uses the power of the elements. it does not use the power of the mind. this means that when i do a fengshui solution/ application. after it is done, i get on with my life and forget about it. and within 2-3 months, things just happen based on what the fengshui application is about.

that is why most unreligious chinese countries get rich faster than their religious counterparts. the non religious people tend to hire a fengshui consultant, do the fengshui, and get on with life. while the religious tend to over analyze everything, get superstitious about it, and wait for mana to fall from heaven.

why do i practice fengshui? i haven't made any major renovations yet. but i did some small changes, and so far life has been good - it is convenient. and i never ran out of time. i always have more than enough time to do whatever i want. and my business is doing well. it is hard to explain why it is the way it is now. i do not even force my employees to believe in fengshui. i just do something like change the location of our office in the building, and that's it. if you really know fengshui, most effective solutions don't even involve a mirror nor a bagua.

i think fengshui is the other half of "the secret" by rhonda byrne. because in it, you use the power of the mind. while in fengshui you just relax and let the elements do their work.

Most people who do not believe in feng shui don't have a clue what feng shui is. It is based on sound principles, which of course certain practitioners can abuse.

I'm a Realtor, and a Christian. I believe that feng shui exists and has a spiritual power to it. I don't believe it's a power promised to us by God. Like borrowing money from a loan shark, the money is real and gets you out of your immediate situation.... but also just like borrowing from a loan shark, now to whom are you indebted.......

I am non-asian

feng shui is for people who are outer oriented (no pun intended). For people who are obsessed with order in the material world because they have no order in their inner worlds. If you make your inner world your priority, you can still be at peace and organized mentally no matter what the material world is like. If it is total chaos it will just be an inconvenience, not a cause for emotional upset. Every blue moon my inner world is organized :-)
