I was told as long as it lists the nutritional info it is covered. Food stamps cover all sorts of junk food including sodas and chips but wont cover paper goods like toilet paper or paper towels.

Is that a taxed item?? then I think not.
they are called FOOD stamps...
I didn't think they cover any soft drinks etc.
