Shop at Dollar General for many household items. Many local churches collect furniture & give to the needy. The Goodwill Industries has a good selection of household furnishings also. You might even place an ad in the paper or put flyers up in the grocery stores, laundromats, etc. asking for people to donate household furnishings to someone in need. You can clean the stuff up when you get it & it can often times look like new. Dollar General or the Dollar Tree are great places to buy some household cleaners that you'll need to clean things up.

This can be fun!!! Coffee table can be made from bricks for legs and glass or wood for the top. Throw a scarf, sheet or blanket over taller boxes for end tables. Decorate the walls with a limb theme or dryed flowers picked from the country side...you can spray paint the flowers. Every thing you see can have a different use just use that great imagination that you have.

Thrift stores are good. Check the local paper for used furniture and garage sales. Or - dumpster diving in a upper class neighborhood?

try freecycle.com
Its an online network of people wanting to get rid of stuff but they don't want to just throw it away. You could also post a free ad on craigslist.org that you are looking for funiture. If you are willing to come & pick stuff up you will be surprised to find out how many people would be willing to give stuff away.

Craigslist.com has a "free" section in their classifieds. Keep searching until you find something you can use. Also, to decorate, look to nature....Collect things like rocks, twigs, leaves, flowers and try making things out of them.
