What kind of toothpaste are you using? Are you taking any medications? Do you breathe through your mouth constantly? Are you hydrated? Those are just some of the questions you should ask yourself. But you could have a condition called xerostomia. I have suffered with dry mouth for years and have found avoiding any products that touch my lips that contain SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate) which is a chemical in lots of cosmetics and oral hygiene products that can cause reactions in some people. I use a toothpaste called Biotene Dry Mouth and I drink water constantly. Chewing gum is also a great way to produce saliva in your mouth because when you chew on something...whether it be food or gum, your body starts producing saliva. Lots of medications have side effects like dry mouth as well. Always DRINK PLENTY OF WATER and AVOID SUGARS! Good luck to you!

Hello!

In your case I would recommend a visit to an MD. You see a dry mouth w/o the above mentioned drug/medication use is usually a sign of either a systemic disease or a salivary gland problem. There are 3 pairs of major salivary glands that produce and excrete saliva into your mouth. All 3 pairs have to be damages or their ducts obliterated in order to have a condition described by you. Having said that, it is more likely that you have some sort of a systemic problem. Here is a question that you should ask yourself. Do I also have dry eyes and do I not sweat normally. If your answer is yes then a Shogren's syndrome is to suspect.
In any case I would strongly suggest you to see your regular doctor.

Good luck!

You may be experiencing something known as Sjogren's syndrome which is a disease in which the immune system targets moisture-producing glands and causes dryness in the mouth and eyes.

Do you ever experience dry eyes, nose, throat?

Anyway, your dentist will be able to help you out on a more detailed level. There are many things that could cause dry mouth, so your BEST bet would be to consult your dentist for a clinical examination.

It happened to me before... Sometimes it is the toothpaste, you should not use the white ones. Also you should use ALWAYS some kind of lipstick, it's better if it has some special substances for your lips, like shapstick or just a regular lip gloss.

Have you had your blood sugar checked? A constant need to drink is a big sign of diabetes.

You are dehydrated, drink more water. You are probably just so used to being dehydrated you don't realize it.
