If it cranks but won't fire check the ICM (Ignition control module) on the distributor they are know for going out without warning. Cost is around 35$ to replace.

First thing I'd do is turn the key to "On" but don't start the car, you should hear the fuel pump prime (a slight hum coming from the rear of the car, lasts a second or 2). It's not exactly quiet but you may want to have someone sit in the back seat just to cover all bases. If you don't hear that, then it's either your fuel pump (not a terrible job, but could be pricey at a shop), or your relay which is under the driver's seat.

Next, check for spark...
Disconnect a spark plug and set it on your intake manifold (or just the wire, but substitute a screwdriver for the plug), try to start the car, if it arcs then you're ok there, if not then it's electrical.

All of this is assuming that the car cranks. If not, then it's probably starter related. And if the engine blew, you'd know!

well the engine could be blown but its most likeley the timing chain or altinator, with older cars they tend to have abit more up keep to keep them running like new and it may cost u $100- $800 to fix it it may also me an electrical short or problem the '87 ponys are notorious for that and they tend to be cheap to fix if u get junkyard parts and not factory rebuilds but to be honist iam a mechanic and i cannot say with out seeing the car and hearing the noise it may be making when u try and start the car......it cauld be a number of thing i just gave u the cheapest stuff to fix......hope this helps comming from a mechanic that specializes on classic car restorations

Well, I am so not a mechanic, but I can tell you, you would know if your engine was blown. Now, if it cranks and won't turn over, it could be as simple as the distributor cap not throwing a spark, and that can be easily fixed with points and plugs. Another thing could be your starter. Good Luck.....

If the engine blew at any time that you were driving it,you would have noticed. It is something that is hard to miss.
The car would have come to a dead halt.
You can have a dead cellunoid,a dead circut somewhere.
It is a circut,it is a circle that is joined.Look for where the circle is broken.
It is almost surely an electrical problem, going from the battery to the starter.
The starter can have loose connections,it is probably something like that.

When you say won't start, do you mean it doesn't crank or it cranks but won't start? If it cranks but won't start it's most likely a carbeurator thing. Next on the list is ignition. The engines not blown unless you can hear pieces rattling around when you crank it or if you distinctly heard some loud clacking and then the engine stopped.

You blew a 100 amp fuse and replaced it without finding out what caused the fuse to blow?
