Neighbor has an easement for getting in and out of his own property and is exclusive to that only. I'm tired of dodging the mail box on my own property, and want it removed. I asked nicely several times to relocate the mailbox. I would have just run it over by now but don't know what is the proper way to handle it. I'm thinking of sending out a bill for $100.00 per month for rental of the space the mailbox is on, which is a bargain compared to what a private mail center would charge for a box as big

If it is on your property, remove it. The mail box is only a receptacle. You are not tampering with the mail. Notify the owner prior to removal. If there is mail in the box, remove it, and hand it to him. You are not breaking any laws.

Why haven't you contacted the authorities? Start by calling the city and get a ruling on the property and easement dispute and work from there. If he is uncooperative, then you need to get authority involved.

If the easement is limited to access, just pull out his mail box and put it on his property.

Just build something else right in front of it so he can't get to it. That way you don't tamper with it, but only build something on your property.
