Yesterday I went back to the dentist who pulled it. He put some nasty stuff in my mouth for dry socked, and told me it takes 2-3 weeks for soft tissue to heal. But this does not seam normal. My mouth literally stops at a cirtian point. And that point isn't very far from being closed. Should I go to the hospital? Has anyone had this happen? Please help me!

Same thing happened to me. Don't worry. I couldn't open my mouth past a certain point for over a week. Even after that it was difficult. You don't have to go to the hospital. Just wait it out.

It will take awhile to heal, but if you put a heat pad on your jaw for awhile it will help the circulation in your jaw and that's going to speed up the healing and it also relaxes the muscles. Don't put it on too high heat, just a gentle warmth.
Also if you will rinse your mouth with warm water it will help.
Good luck. You don't need to go to the hospital. I had to use
a straw to drink with for awhile after having my wisdom teeth
extracted.

I had mine pulled about a month ago and i had the same problem. wait till the dissolving stitches dissolve; it will progress in a positive direction from there.

i had a slight problem with lock jaw following mine, but i started to chew gum and it unstiffened (if that is even a word..lol) easily.

good luck, and hang in there, it will heal, trust me. i thought i was going to die from the side effects, but i am 100% now.

PS- once you are feeling better you will see where your holes that remained become food traps, you will want to rinse and swish with lukewarm water... cold will make you cry, trust me.
