The depiction of a female along side the male form of a God as a Godess goes on to show that Hinduism sees Women as equals. Not only are they respected and valued they are seen as the living representations of Shakti. Like energy is needd to run any living thing or for that matter as energy is there in everything in the form of inertia, so is a woman for a man. A God can be seen doing all the stuff, but he too derives his energy from the Godess.

Another reason being a man and women compliment and complete each other and are vital to the sustainence of nature. Everything in nature is in twos.

Other religions have downplayed the importance of Women in religion and spirituality, and see women worship or acknowldging women power as paganistic.

May be because they are hetrosexual and NOT homosexaul and other gods are homosexuals.
The reason is that the hindus knew that that no single force can ever be in equillibrium and thre are actually nothing - ABSOLUTELY NOTHIG THAT EXIOSTS WITH A SINGLE side or phase .Even the Gods have creaed every beoing in pairs of male and female . The god who crated the man after his image , accodig to Moses ( as stted in is forst book - genesis) did no tknow after whose iomag ehe created Eve.and he did not know why he created eve at all.He who created amn afgter his image . copuld have left out the creation of woman as he was capable of impregnating mary without a man , he could have arranged for the prpogation of the species by the makes alone .The hindu philsophy being logical and scientific , it is natural that the represnetation of their gods is perfectly in accordance with science , logic and facts . The images of the gods of the hindu rewligions are representations of the principles of life and the universe.so they are factual and true to life and science .
It is not Known to Christian and Muhammedan gods himself why they created the female specises while they have not any females for themselves ,as they have not said anythng about it either in the Bible or in the Koran which has adopted much of the principles of Bible .
Any inquest is not an insult to any religion . It is only good that yu hav raised the question.

Good Question
It is like this No man is complete without a woman. Because she is the one who gives birth as mother, help him in growing or support when difficulties come as a wife so without a female aspect there is no male.

Second thing is we Hindus believe that God is everywhere and we see him in ourselves. Not like others where God is different from the World or Everything is Gods.
So when we see God in Ourselves and ourselves in God it is obvious that we see him as we are. I stay with my wife and pray with my wife and how can my God be alone without wife, are we not making him lonely.

And do you know the best part is that Lord Shiva gave his half to His wife and be came Ardha Nareeswara.

Better half every where and every time

Hindus dont treat women as made from superflous part of the body. For hindus women is Shakti, the half part of Shiva. No Man is complete without a woman, is the basic principle of this depiction

To make it simple - try conceptualizing something with no form, infinite and eternal and describe what comes to mind. It is far easier to conceptualize and image. On the other hand, Sri Sri Radha Krishna gives us a nice pleasing "concrete" image for both men and women to focus our devotion towards which is MUCH easier to do (the many statues and pictures are also great assists).

There are common themes for many of the schools within Hinduism that can be found in the Vedic scriptures, and such works as the Bhagavad Gita. Remember yoga originated out of Hinduism. Most people only know the physical forms of yoga, called hatha, but those techniques area actually preparatory techniques for the higher practices of the spiritual types of yoga such as jnana, karma, and bhakti. You can practice a form of hatha but it helps to be grounded and centered in some sense in the higher forms of yoga or all you are doing is stretching.

If you are interested in the yoga teachings of Lord Krishna, then one thing you may want to focus on to learn and practice in a more nonsectarian manner is the Uddhava Gita. The Uddhava Gita is a summation of the essence of the Bhagavad Gita (and the simplest and most direct practice of yoga), and so it is eminently suitable for nonsectarian, universal teaching which is the essence of Hinduism.

Here is a short summation of the Uddhava Gita which is found in the Srimad Bhagavatam (also known as Bhagavata Purana) 11.7:

EPILOGUE - LORD KRISHNA'S LAST SERMON

At the end of another long sermon comprising of more than one thousand verses, disciple Uddhava said: "O Lord Krishna, I think the pursuit of God as You narrated to Arjuna (in the Bhagavad Gita), and now to me, is very difficult indeed, for most people; because it entails control of unruly senses. Please tell me a short, simple, and easy way to God-realization." Lord Krishna upon Uddhava's request gave the essentials of Self-realization as follows:

· Do your duty, to the best of your ability, for Me without worrying about the outcome.

· Remember Me at all times. (Note that this is the point of chanting things like the mahamantra - Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Kare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare which is often chanted in kirtan or a variation of it. The whole point of kirtan and mantra is remembrance.)

· Perceive that God is within every living being. Mentally bow down to all beings and treat all beings equally.

· Perceive through the activities of mind, senses, breathing, and emotions that the power of God is within you at all times, and is constantly doing all the work using you as a mere instrument and a trustee.

I recommend the International Gita Society as they are nonsectarian, offer affordable translations of the Bhagavad Gita with commentary, and can help teach you the basics without having to spend a lot of money or submit to some guru you know nothing about:

They also have an online Gita study and discussion forum:

I hope these are helpful!

God with His Consort represents completeness. God is both Father and Mother. So, He appears like that. This represents His strictness and kindness.

In non-Hindu religions, God appears only in the mood of Father, to strictly bring them to the path of righteousness, as they err more easily. Most non-Hindus tend to easily go to extremes in anything (such as wrath, violence, sexuality, etc). Hence, God goes there in the form of only Father. Father is generally strict.
