CNN has been running segments on how GOD is playing a major important part in the upcoming election.. The Demmies are doing thier best to show the values they hold from thier religious beliefs, are they being sincere? or just trying to rally votes from the believers????
The majority of Americans especially the young voters are pro-life, the majority of americans are not for Gay Marraige, the enviroment the War in Iraq, economy and healthcare are all factors but VALUES each candidate holds is vitally imporatnt to the American voter.
Is it to you?

Who is this majority you speak of? Are they really a majority, or a very vocal minority? And why pick on the Dems? You think that a Dem can't be a Christian or something?

No, "traditional values" are low on my list of things to look for in a candidate. I want someone who can get us out of the war, get unemployment down and the economy up, who has a good foreign policy, who believes we are all equal regardless of faith, color, or sexual orientation, and who will uphold the Constitution, not twist it to his own ends.

Further, the only way some of these people can define themselves to potential voters in the South and the bible belt is to claim Christianity. Which is why Romney doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of election. Too many people inherently distrust Mormons, regardless of whether they are a good candidate or not. God should play no role in politics, but many Americans seem to need him to be there. It's sad.

Read the bible and you might note that Jesus was the first to separate church and state. Belief is our choice given to us by God. Would God endorse forced belief. Absolutely not. How would that affect hearts except to promote resentment to God. What other people do has little to do with what happens to you in the end unless you are blocking their path to God by causing undeserved resentment toward Him. When we as His believers were given the great commission, did it say to make them believe? No, it said to tell them the Good News and if not well received to dust our feet off and go on.
As to the Dem's they are more right than the so called Christian Right. They are not trying to steal any ones god given right of choice. As to majority being pro-life and not wanting gay marriage, they aren't gay or pregnant as the majority of people are heterosexual and not pregnant.
As to sincerity how does the GOP justify lying about WMD's and killing for profit? This is clearly not what Jesus would do.

I think using the fact that the majority of Americans are Christians (who are losing there minds) to gain votes. Which is wrong, end of story wrong. What about the other votes that DO exist and are allowed to be themselves according to the rights are founders fought for? We strive to be like them, get leaders like them, yet we do not honor them by wanting to keep the rights that thousands of our troops are dying for, as we sit here today, abusing the rights, that people would love to have. People are starving, and we could help them, but we're just going to sit around getting fat. Keep God out of this, and think about the other people in the USA and World.

I want a qualified candidate who will do his job the right way and put the interest of the American people first.

Religion should NOT be the reason why a politician is voted into office; however, Christians like you would love to see a Christian radical be in office.

No. I want leaders who can make educated decisions that allow this country to be run smoothly and allow us the greatest opportunity for self expression and growth.

Values are different for everyone and by voting based purely on values we don't know whether the person is good for the job.

For example, I wouldn't select my doctor for an operation because he was nice and believed in the same things I do. I'd select him because he had a good education and has a good record of performing his job.

Our politicians have a job to do, they better be good at it.

First of all if a person supports abortion they are not Christian and will not see heaven unless they repent.
The Democrats for the most part are just trying to say anything they can to get votes, then use our tax money to support the shedding of innocent babies blood.

Values are the determining factor in who I select. If the person's values are good, everything else should be good as well.

Get your facts right, then post.

A plurality of Americans are pro-choice.
