God is an antiquated concept left over from more primitive times. Ancient peoples had no explanation for all the strange and wonderful things around them. They had no choice but to invent a higher deity to explain all of these things they could not understand. From B'all to Zeus to the modern interpretation of the higher power they have all been the same imaginary being. Today we understand so much about our world. From our own planet Earth to the very depths of deep space; we have a fairly firm grasp of what is occurring. I think the only reason the myth of God is still perpetuated is due to the still remaining fear and lack of knowledge about death. People still need something to hold on to. I think the real question that needs to be asked isn't do you believe in God, but do you need to believe in God.

It depends on what you mean by "believe."
There have been too many "coincidences" in my life, good and bad for them to be the result of anything but deliberate meddling. I mean things so improbable and requiring so many other things to happen that the fix had to be in. So, I pretty much have to believe that there is a God.
But, if by "Believe" you mean, "Do I trust in the Lord?" No. Not one little bit. Anybody who hides his actions behind Natural Law and only speaks through intermediaries who alter the messages to promote their own agendas, doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence, to my way of thinking.
One thing puzzles me about a previous answer. Why would someone who styles herself, "Crazy for Writing" respond with but a single word?

Yes I do, To believe that their isn't a God. Their has to be more than what we see and know. I don't believe we were brought here by aliens; like the Scientology's Theories. Besides, It's good to believe in something.

I believe in God. Sure. Any person in their right mind, that understands we cannot grasp anything and everything. That even our own KNOWN methods of science are on a shaky foundation, should at least ADMIT the possibility of a God.
Seriously.. All I want from a stubborn atheist... It is a POSSIBILITY... Don't be so closed-minded.

Absolutely.
Not as the proverbial old man with a white beard that has nothing better to do than sit around and play puppet master for the universe, but rather as the true omnipotent, omnipresent sum total of all things.
