I would love to hear active mormons state something hypothetical that would shake their faith. Something like the prophet having a gay lover or the tabernacle being struck down by a tornado (did that happen already?). Anyway, it's just for fun.

Hmmm...for me, nothing would change my beliefs.
The prophet having a gay lover? No, why would another person's sin make the gospel untrue? That's like saying to myself, well if I sin, the gospel must be untrue...we all sin, no one is perfect, that is why we are so lucky and blessed to have the opportunity to repent.
Tablernacle being struck down by a tornado? No, not that either. We live on an earth here we are all subject to what happens here... sometimes bad things happen but bring about wonderful opportunities to serve others... Hurricane Katrina?
On the reverse...what would convert you? Could I tell you incident after incident where LDS temples have been "saved" from natural disasters or man's feeble attempts to destroy them? Or share experience after experience where my testimony has grown from answer to prayer, confirming to me that the church is true?

What if none of the doctrine was true at all, in fact, proven beyond a doubt that it is both a crime against humanity and nature?

Would that even matter, I wonder?

Didn't the Tongan Temple burn down not too long ago?

That is not funny at all to me. Nothing would shake my faith. Tribulation brings me closer to God. Good things bring me closer to God. To make jest of something so serious as my eternal salvation is to make a mockery of my covenants with God. I think that you should understand it is a serious and reverent manner in which we think about our church. It is not a fun game, but the reason why we are on this Earth: to learn, grow, and become more like God so we can be worthy to return to him someday.

being forced to live as someone's fourth wife at the age of 15, while i raise my cousin/sister who will have to be faced with the same indifference and neglect for her well being. i think that would shake my faith loose.
